Town Center residents were all dressed in beautiful Hawaiian attire last Friday night at our monthly themed party and dinner. The evening started off with an open bar and dancing to the music of The Lou Ann Rice Band, playing and singing many familiar Hawaiian songs. The band passed out song sheets to all the residents so they could sing along with many of the songs, familiar ones like “Tiny Bubbles” by Don Ho and other artists who recorded beautiful Hawaiian music years ago, such as “Little Grass Shack” and “Aloha Oe”. They added in a few fun songs like “Elvira” which enticed many residents to head to the dance floor to rock out! After the party, the crowd headed into the dining room for an incredible Hawaiian luau buffet with a whole pig! The chefs outdid themselves with beautiful fruit sculptures, chicken satay, coconut shrimp, baked pineapple spiced ham, mixed vegetables, and Hawaiian rolls. The residents raved about the flavor of the pig and all the choices on the buffet. The meal began with a Hawaiian soup and ended with dessert, which was a delicious key lime pie. During the dinner, Hula Dancer, Tiffany danced around the dining room to popular Hawaiian songs…doing two sets with a change of costumes and styles of dancing. She ended the evening with Elvis Presley’s “Rock-A-Hula Baby,” definitely enchanting all the males in the room!
