Lead Chef Chris Larkins Prepares Culinary Delights for All

Our featured chef at The Fountains at Canterbury is Chris Larkins. Chris began his culinary journey at the young age of 15 while working at an Italian restaurant. As he cleared the tables and washed the dishes, he was always more interested in what the cooks were doing. He would admire their cooking techniques, and knew that one day he wanted to create and prepare culinary dishes.

His diverse work experiences, in various types of kitchens, allowed him to acquire multiple cooking techniques, and he was able to learn the characteristics of a competent, resourceful chef.

Chris began culinary school in 2005. He graduated, with honors, in 2007. After graduation, Chris continued to develop his culinary skills while working as a Sous Chef in a number of local restaurants.

Chris is married and has two beautiful children named Brandon and Kaitlyn. Chris attributes his wife with inspiring him to begin his successful journey to the prominent position he holds today as the Chef of the Fountains at Canterbury.

What’s Cooking Chris?

Please enjoy one of Chris’s favorite recipes:

Tequila Lime Chicken

Ingredients:
4 Chicken Breasts
1 Jalapeno
1 Tomato
1 Red Onion
1 Green Bell Pepper
1 Cup Tequilla
½ Cup Lime Juice
¼ Cup Cilantro

Preparation:
Char the jalapeno, tomato, bell pepper, red onion, and cilantro. Place ingredients in a blender and pulse until mixed.  Add the tequila and lime juice. Pulse to blend. Combine raw chicken breasts and mixture in a bowl to marinade in the refrigerator for 3-4 hours. You may grill, bake, or cook this chicken in a pan. Cook until internal temperature of chicken reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit. Top with a salsa or a pico, and enjoy!
