Over 70 residents and guests attended our Neil Diamond concert last week. Glenn Sulley has been doing Neil Diamond songs for years and performs at the Jazz Lab in Edmond with a full band and packed house. Glenn was accompanied by David Sisson, multi-talented musician who plays keyboard along with all the instruments he incorporates into the sounds of a full band. Jill Sulley, Glenn’s wife, sang background on many of the songs. One guest from the outside brought an old Neil Diamond album cover he had saved from the 80’s…admitted he was a huge fan. Becky served after-dinner drinks at the bar which included some fun combinations of drinks residents were anxious to try…Grand Marnier, Chambord, Kahlua, Gingerbread Liqueur, and a combination of Fireball and RumChata which was a big hit! Glenn sang most of Neil’s greatest hits, including “Sweet Caroline,” “I Am…I Said,” “Cracklin’ Rosie,” “Song Sung Blue,” “Play Me,” “Holly Holy,” “Hello Again,” “Forever in Blue Jeans,” “Cherry Cherry,” and when he sang “Heartlight,” we turned out the lights and everyone held up their glow sticks in the dark…waving them throughout the song. Glenn ended the concert with “America” as everyone sang along.
