Western was the theme of the month, as the Town Center residents dressed in their cowboy hats, boots and bandanas to dance to the country songs by The Glenn Sulley Band. It was Winsell Sloan’s birthday so he posed in the wanted poster as a mean, tough hombre, wanted for $1,000. Residents sang “Happy Birthday” as our singer, Jill Robles, danced the birthday dance with Winsell. The saloon was open all night and the dance hall was hoppin’ as residents got up to do the two-step. Following the party, everyone headed for the western dinner in our dining room. The menu for the evening was a SW Wedge Salad with roasted Ranch Dressing, topped with Corn, Peppers, Onions, and Cilantro. The entrée was Carne Asada, seasoned sliced Beef topped with Avocado and Pico de Gallo, accompanied by Dirty Rice and seasoned Black Beans. For dessert, it was a delectable Turtled Bread Pudding with Caramel Rum Sauce. Residents raved about the dinner, which was a perfect meal for a bunch of hungry cowpokes!!!
