This year’s chocolate festival was a huge hit. We had close to 150 residents and guests attend the afternoon event. Directors and Associates made homemade chocolate desserts that everyone seemed to enjoy…and there was very little left over. Dining Services prepared four large trays of chocolate dipped strawberries in various designs and colors of chocolate, which was fun for all and delicious to eat! The tables were all in fuchsia pink and the champagne table was covered with a silver rhinestone tablecloth draped over a fuchsia cloth. The small tables held silver vases with bright green hydrangeas surrounding the rim of the vases with pale pink calla lilies and hot pink tulips in the center of the vases. The large flower arrangement held white and pink orchids, pale green hydrangeas, hot pink roses and gerbera daisies, pink alstroemerias, and other pink and green foliage. We served five choices of beverages…Spumante and pink champagne, White Cosmopolitans, Chocolate Wine, Chocolate Godiva Liqueurs, and a Raspberry punch. Guests listened to the music of “Ancient Spirit” who play beautiful International love songs. This is always a fun event for everyone and you can certainly overload on sweets, but we do also offer sugar free, gluten free, and vegan choices for those who can’t eat the real thing! It was a great way to start off February, heart month, and Valentine’s Day with chocolate and champagne!
