Cornhole & Coffee

Residents have been meeting every Saturday morning throughout the summer to play cornhole and have coffee & pastries. Chuck and Marge Whitehair bought a cornhole game and thought it would be a good idea to go out on our Town Center patio early on Saturday mornings for a little exercise and fellowship. The patio faces west so it is sometimes difficult to have events in the afternoons with the west sun…and especially in Oklahoma with the temperatures usually in the upper 90’s all summer. It is really cool in the mornings and the view from the patio faces the lake and fountain with beautiful blue and pink skies beyond the lake. Residents have signed up to bring pastries on one Saturday for everyone and the coffee is provided. This has been a popular program and one where the residents can enjoy each other’s company, get some exercise, try different and delicious morning snacks and get to know one another better. The bags are filled with corn and the object is to throw the bags toward a slanted board and get the bag in the hole. They get 3 points if they get it in the hole and 1 point if it lands on the board. Several of our new residents are joining in and saying it is a good way to meet everyone!
