Renown guitarist Edgar Cruz performed at The Fountains at Canterbury in November. Edgar is from Oklahoma City but he has traveled all over the world performing throughout many countries and the United States. He always draws a big crowd when he comes to entertain us. He played a classical medley including “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desire,” “Greensleeves,” “William Tell Overture,” “Canon in D,” then added several favorites such as “La Bamba,” “Malaguena,” “Granada,” “Habanera,” “Smoke Gets in Your Eyes,” “Over the Rainbow” and so many more. He also took requests from the audience.
One guest requested to meet Edgar, as he had been given CD’s of his years ago and has listened to them over and over. He was thrilled to meet him in person. One of his favorite fans is Town Center resident Loyce Matthews. Loyce is from Frederick, Oklahoma and saw Edgar years ago when he performed there. She showed him a picture she had taken with him at his concert. He asked to have another picture taken at this concert and on the count of three, surprised Loyce with a kiss…one she says she will never forget!
