At the Town Center this week, Chef Chris prepared a gourmet 5-course dinner paired with wines for a “Special Night Out with the Chef”. Twelve residents signed up to attend the elegant dinner, paying an extra fee for the evening. The dinner was held in our library with beautiful floral centerpieces, candlelight, and soft music playing throughout the meal. Chris began the evening with cocktails and a starter of Skewered Shrimp with Scallops, then a Spring Salad with Balsamic Reduction Dressing, Feta Cheese and Pine Nuts, wrapped in a Cucumber Bowl, served with Toast Points. For the appetizer, he prepared Cantaloupe Wrapped in Prosciutto. The Entrée was a Filet Mignon with Butter Rosette, accompanied by Scalloped Potatoes and Roasted Asparagus. For Dessert… Chocolate Swirl Mousse with Mixed Berries. Two wines were selected to serve with the dinner, a Rodney Strong Merlot and a Kendall Jackson Chardonnay.
This dinner will be a quarterly event and is exclusive to those with a reservation only. Space will be limited. This has been a successful evening in the past, giving the residents an opportunity to experience an intimate dinner with a delicious cuisine prepared by our own chef.
